Ashleigh Nelson has been a member of the Australian women’s hockey team, the “Hockeyroos” since 2008 now playing more than 170 games and overcoming many of the non-selection, self doubt and injury difficulties associated with being an elite athlete.
Since her debut Ashleigh highlights have included winning dual Commonwealth Games gold medals, World Cup silver, dual Champions Trophy and World League silver while representing Australia at the 2012 London Olympics.
Off-field Ashleigh is a qualified Occupational Therapist, Ladder Program Mentor and Ambassador for mental health group RUOK? She has assisted in raising over $30,000 for RUOK? by trekking the Kokoda Trail in 2014.
These experiences have helped shaped the resilient and determined player she is today, making her an informative and engaging public speaker.
